Frequently Asked Questions
One very clear difference is appearance. American Bullies are more muscular and very broad, often with larger heads and shorter legs. American Pit Bull Terriers are not as muscular and not as wide. American Pit Bull Terriers are medium sized dogs weighing about 30 to 70 pounds and stand about 18 to 22 inches at the shoulders, while American Bullies are more like 50 to 120 pounds. In both breeds actual weight and height are less important than the proportion between weight and height. Weights and heights vary in both breeds, but the goal of the American Bully to be muscular and broad with a big head remains a clear difference. Below will be an example of the difference between the 2 breeds.
When searching for an ethical breeder, here are key qualities and practices to look for:
1. Health and Genetic Testing
An ethical breeder prioritizes the health of their dogs and conducts proper health screenings for genetic diseases common to the breed. Ask for documentation of tests such as:
• Hip and elbow evaluations
• Cardiac exams
• Genetic testing for breed-specific conditions
2. Commitment to Bettering the Breed
They breed with the goal of improving the breed, focusing on temperament, health, and structure. Look for breeders who adhere to their breed club’s code of ethics and breed standard.
3. Transparent Breeding Practices
An ethical breeder will openly discuss their breeding program, including:
• Why they chose specific pairings
• The lineage and health history of the puppies’ parents
• Any potential risks associated with the breed
4. Proper Socialization
Breeders should begin socializing puppies from an early age to ensure they grow up well-adjusted. Puppies should be exposed to various environments, sounds, people, and other animals before going to their new homes.
5. Clean and Safe Environment
Visit the breeder’s facility or home to ensure it is clean, safe, and provides a nurturing environment for the dogs. The dogs should appear healthy, happy, and well-cared for.
6. Limited and Responsible Breeding
Ethical breeders typically breed only a few litters per year to ensure each litter gets the care and attention it needs. They avoid overbreeding and focus on quality, not quantity.
7. Proper Placement of Puppies
Breeders should carefully screen potential buyers to ensure their puppies go to responsible, loving homes. Expect them to ask about your lifestyle, experience, and plans for the dog.
8. Lifetime Support and Contract
They offer a written contract outlining responsibilities, including health guarantees and spay/neuter agreements. Many ethical breeders provide lifetime support and require you to return the dog to them if you can no longer care for it.
9. Active in the Breed Community
Look for breeders who are involved in their breed community through:
• Membership in breed-specific clubs
• Participation in dog shows, trials, or performance events
• Advocacy for breed education and responsible ownership
10. Willing to Answer Questions
An ethical breeder welcomes questions and provides detailed, honest answers. They should be a source of knowledge and mentorship, especially for first-time owners.
Red Flags to Watch For
• Selling puppies through pet stores, online ads, or without screening buyers.
• No health testing or unwillingness to share results.
• Overbreeding or always having puppies available.
• Lack of references or reluctance to let you visit.
• Pushing for quick sales without asking questions about you.
Choosing an ethical breeder ensures you’re getting a healthy, well-socialized puppy while supporting responsible breeding practices.
Our prices range from $2,500 to $3,500, reflecting our dedication to a high-quality breeding program. Selective breeding involves significant time, care, and investment, which ensures the best possible health and temperament in our American Bully puppies. While it’s true you can find puppies at lower prices from “backyard breeders,” the upfront savings often come with hidden costs down the line, such as health issues or poor genetics. We prioritize health above all else, so you can feel confident that your investment is in a well-bred, healthy companion.
To begin the process, please complete our puppy questionnaire application for approval. Once your application is approved and we’ve had a chance to discuss further, a non-refundable $500 deposit will secure your spot on our puppy waitlist. If necessary, deposits can be transferred to a future litter to accommodate your preferences or circumstances.

As responsible breeders, we are committed to ensuring that our dogs are placed in loving homes where they will be treated as cherished members of the family. We will never sell to brokers, research facilities, or any situation that compromises the well-being of our puppies. To safeguard their health and happiness, we reserve the right to return your deposit and decline the sale of a puppy at our discretion. Our puppies rely on us to be their voice, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Co-owning a dog is an excellent option for breeders, aspiring breeders, and anyone passionate about contributing to the betterment of the breed. My goal is to make the co-ownership process smooth, straightforward, and mutually beneficial. While I won’t dictate how you manage your dog, I will be available to mentor and guide you throughout the journey.
Requirements for Co-Ownership:
1. Health Testing: All co-owned dogs must complete the following health screenings(minimum requirements will be specified in the contract):
• Hips
• Elbows
• Cardiac
• Genetic testing
2. Champion Title: The dog must achieve a championship title to meet quality standards.
3. Breeding Agreement:
• For males, I require the option to use the dog as a stud for an agreed number of breedings.
• For females, you can choose between:
• Allowing me to whelp a litter from her.
• Providing a puppy back from an agreed-upon breeding if you wish to handle the breeding yourself.
Completion of the Agreement:
Once all requirements are fulfilled, full ownership rights will be transferred to you. However, it is your responsibility to meet the terms outlined in the co-ownership contract. I will not micromanage your progress but expect you to honor your commitments.
Important Notes:
• If you fail to meet the requirements of the co-ownership agreement, full ownership will not transfer to you, and the dog will not be permitted to breed.
• A clear and fair contract will be provided, ensuring transparency for both parties.
This co-own program is designed to support you while maintaining the integrity of the breed and ensuring responsible practices.
