A Prayer to the Mother of God

From

The African American Community

O Mother of the African American community. We come before you to plead our cause for Peace & Justice in a world that has grown cold and distant from the plan of God. A plan that included a people of color who were empowered by our Creator to flourish and to be a true reflection of the God most high in the person of His Son, Jesus the Christ. Let the sufferings of the African American people be efficacious before the throne of God and give Grace, Love, and Mercy to this broken world.

May the power of the Sweet Holy Spirit that descended on the apostles in that upper room on Pentecost Sunday continue to descend on your people who cry out before you day and night. May the cry of liberation be the songs of our people as we left every voice and sing til earth and heaven sing and sing with harmonies of Liberty. Let our rejoicing rise high as the listening skies. Let it resound loud as the rolling sea! (James Weldon Johnson)

We ask all this in Jesus precious name. Ashe

And still we rise!
