Knowing how to access and manage the gradebook is key to keeping your students informed on their status in class. To manage your grade center, you should know how to enter grades, access gradeable items, additems, calculations, or attendance, complete a submission receipt search, upload gradebook information and download gradebook information. Please see the resources below to learn how to do so!
Entering grades is simple! You can enter the grade directly on the student's submitted assignment, or you can enter the grade center, and see all students assignments and grade them all at once!
Gradeable items list and the student list is the default view for looking at your gradebook. It shows the list of items or assignments that your students have submitted.
Adding Items, Calculations, and Attendance allows you to add rows for coursework in the gradebook, add a row for an average assignment grade, and allow for adding of attendance respectively.
Submission receipts are sent to students upon their submission to an assignment. Students should receive this in their email. In the submission receipt they should receive a number. This number you can use in order to search for the assignment directly.
When downloading the gradebook from the grade center, you are able to choose to download the full gradebook, certain assignments, or the history of changes made to grades. You can also choose to download it in an .xls file or a .csv file.
When working offline, you can make changes to a .xls or a .csv file. You can then upload this to the gradebook in the grade center. To upload a correct formatted file, first download the gradebook, make the changes you wish to make, save it, then re-upload the file.
