Robin was right... change is hard at first, can be messy in the middle, and absolutely gorgeous at the end... but what If I told you that we are here to make it so that change isn't as hard at first, isn't as messy or messy at all in the middle, and still can be gorgeous at the end! For that reason, I built this course to help guide you through the process of change from what we've known as Blackboard for years, to its new version. First I want to explain that soon Blackboard will stop supporting the older version that we are using, meaning we cannot reach out to them for assistance and fix broken things should something go wrong. The idea is to get everyone on the new version called "Ultra" before they stop supporting the original version. To do that, we are all going to have to work together!
If you have used Ultra in the past and it seemed "buggy" or troublesome, I will say that over the past few years, it has changed! They have made massive updates that we are committed to raising awareness about. We have had tons of positive feedback from faculty that have already switched, and even students. Many students have mentioned that they would prefer to learn in Ultra! We want to create an environment for you, and subsequently our students, that promotes the use and value of Blackboard Ultra and its basic functions. We hope this increases confidence in the use of Blackboard and productivity for both new faculty and faculty transitioning from Original and subsequently student learning. Let's get started!
