The lever and safety barrel have a very precise fit. I actually had to tap the lever on slightly to get the roll pin holes to align.
3 lever options
60 degree side
90 degree notch relief.
Magnet on the punch will hold the small roll pin on to the tip of the 1/16 roll pin punch to ease installation.
Ensure both roll pin holes are aligned. I had to tap the left side lever on as it was a very precision fit and would not align by hand. Failure to check this will result in damaged roll pins.
Roll pin, like most other AR components, should be pressed in until even gaps are visible on both sides.
Also, TAPE YOUR LOWER. Who cares what other think. I use the nylon surface of the hammer, but one slip of the punch could easily damage an expensive receiver of your own or a customers.
All done and installed on this Hodge lower
The smaller the roll pin, the smaller the hammer. I use this 10oz Layman hammer for 99% of my AR assembly, as when properly installed, nothing else needs much more. Removal of taper pins from a FSB sometimes requires a larger hammer, but installation is normally easily completed with this.
Light taps at beginning until you feel the roll pin engage the roll pin hole in the safety barrel. Any harder and you can bend the roll pin.
