HMS Queen Elizabeth
(a superdreadnaught battleship)
I loose count, but I believe this is my fifth ship!! (not counting those I helped others build) I'm building it to be the sister-ship to another of the same class that a friend is building. I also decided that this ship ought to have similar handling/combat performance to my SMS Baden so that after it is built I will be able to easily switch sides to balance teams and not have to adjust to a widely different ship.
This is the finished HMS Queen Elizabeth (not right after I finished, but "prettied up" again after some initial battles, getting ready for our club's annual National Competition)
She's got some dents from bb-impacts, but has held up pretty well (although looks like painting toothpicks black for the secondaries was not a durable idea.. will just have to replace those with small brass tubing)
Even though these are combat models, and can get beat up rather badly, we still like them to look pretty while doing it!
I got a lot of positive feedback from new captains that my other ship build pages helped them understand what they were doing with their own first builds, so I will endeavor to take photos and document the build of this ship as well:
