It's you! And many other community members who have self-organized in mutual aid to provide hot meals to the local community. We are not a charity, nor formally affiliated with or funded by any other organization. No one in the collective is paid for the time, energy, labor or skills they contribute.
We are 100% by community, for community.
Come see us every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the corner parking lot of Americana Blvd. & Cooper Ct. (511 S. Americana).
We'll happily serve you, no questions asked.
(This means you will never have to disclose your gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or immigration status.)
Cash and gift card donations are accepted at meal drop-off times or can be coordinated for drop-off/pick-up around various parts of Boise (please email or DM on Instagram to coordinate).
Gift cards to Costco, Winco, Grocery Outlet, and Walmart are most useful.
Send funds via Venmo @BoiseKitchenCollective.
Funds are entirely redirected back to the community in direct support. They are used to buy things like food, ice, beverages, napkins, cutlery, food containers, and non-food items to aid community needs-- occasionally purchasing propane, gas vouchers, heaters, or medical supplies. You may also specify what your funds can be used for (e.g., grocery cards, pet food, etc.).
Just so you know, we are not a non-profit, and donations are not considered tax-deductible.

Talk to members/organizers of other groups you belong to and arrange a meal-takeover week or gather donations of funds/goods.
Our ability to keep this project sustainable and consistently provide our neighbors with good food relies on a wide net of community support to spread out everyone's energy, efforts, and resources.
If you need a jumping off point, it's good to consider that quality proteins and vegetables are often the hardest things to access for those experiencing food insecurity. (It's also important to consider what feels accessible to you in terms of time and resources so your ability to support BKC feels sustainable.)
We have seen a wide range of meals come through from spicy Thai noodles to pancakes and eggs... and so much in between! Some makers bring vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. Just so long as it is nourishing, filling, homecooked and delivered warm.
This variety gives folks the option to choose what they will most enjoy or what meets their needs, just like anyone else. So make what you enjoy and, odds are, others will too.
There are a few places where non-perishable items can be dropped off at most any time of the week. It is also possible that a hot meal drop off could be coordinated.
Currently there are locations in South Boise, Central Bench, Garden City, or State/36th areas. Please email or DM on Instagram to coordinate.
