• Received the Most Popular Activity Award for outstanding contribution as an Event Officer of the Holography and Diffractive Optics Technical Group, OPTICA – one of the world’s leading Optics and Photonics Society (2026). 

• Delivered an Invited Talk at International Conference on Recent Advances in Photonics and Quantum Technologies, (OPTIQ - 2025), organized by International School of Photonics, CUSAT, Kerala, India (2025).

• Received Media Coverage (The Assam Tribune) for developing two advanced and first of its kind optical systems at IIST – Adaptive Optics and High Resolution Imaging System, and also both the papers are published in reputed Q1 Optics journal (2025).

• Invited as an Eminent Speaker in an Online Five Days Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on Emerging Trends in Multidisciplinary Research (ETMR) organized by the Departments of Physics and Chemistry, School of Energy Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (2025).

• Awarded the prestigious and competitive Ramanujan Fellowship by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB-DST), Govt. of India (2023).

• Invited to serve as Guest Editor for the special issue on Diffractive Optics - Current Trends and Future Advances by Photonics Journal, MDPI Publication (2023).

• Invited to review for the prestigious Siegman International School on Lasers organised by Optica and hosted by Dublin City University, Ireland (2023).

• Single authored work on dual sensor, published in reputed optics journal, Optics Express, has been selected as Editor's Pick that serve to highlight articles with excellent scientific quality and are representative of the work taking place in a specific field (here Holography, Gratings, and Diffraction) (2022).

• Selected for the prestigious Humboldt meets Leibniz Award to present recent work on compressive imaging at the symposium “Humboldt meets Leibniz – Emerging Topics in Optics and Photonics” to be held in Hannover, Germany (2022). 

• Selected as an Event Officer for Optica (leading society of Optics and Photonics, formerly OSA Publishing) in Holography and Diffractive Optics technical group (2022 - 2024).

• Received third best poster presentation award for the paper entitled “Zonal Wavefront Sensing with Enhanced Spatial Resolution and Improved Centroid Detection Accuracy”, in the International Topical Meeting on Applied and Adaptive Optics, (INTOPMAA), organized by IIST, Kerala, India (2017). 

• Received Departmental (Physics) best paper award for the paper entitled “Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulator Based Wavefront Sensing and its Application”, in the Research Conclave, organized by IIT Guwahati, Assam, India (2017). 

• Received Optical Society of India second best contributory paper award in the oral session for the paper entitled “Spatial Resolution Enhancement in a Grating Array Based Zonal Wavefront Sensor”, in the International Conference on Light and Light based Techology, held at Tezpur University, Assam, India (2016).

• Received Optical Society of India second best contributory paper award in the poster session for the paper entitled “Zonal Wavefront Sensing with Improved Accuracy”, in the International Conference on Light and Light based Techology, held at Tezpur University, Assam, India (2016).

• Received 1st runner-up for the paper entitled “Wavefront Sensing Using Computer Generated Holography Technique”, in the Research Conclave organized by IIT Guwahati, Assam, India (2016).

• Received SPIE Student Officer Travel Grant (USD 2800) to attend one of the world’s largest Optics and Photonics Conference “SPIE Photonics West-2016” at San Francisco, California, USA, organized by SPIE (2016). 

• Selected for the prestigious Newport Spectra-Physics Research Excellence Travel Award (USD 750) to attend “SPIE Photonics West-2016” at San Francisco, California, USA, organized by SPIE (2016). 

• Selected for the International Travel Support from DST-SERB to attend “SPIE Photonics West-2016” at San Francisco, California, USA, organized by SPIE (2016). 

• Won cash prize of Rs. 20, 000/- for the project proposal entitled “Development of a Bio-speckle Analyser with an Edge-detector Operator” in the “GBP`s Talent Search Contest On Innovative Research Ideas Leading To Entrepreneurial Venture In Biotechnology And Allied Areas” in the Assam Biotech Conclave, organised by Guwahati Biotechnology Park, IITG, Assam, India (2015). 

• Selected as the founder President of SPIE IIT Guwahati Student Chapter for the year 2015-2016. 

• The Journal entitled “Improved Wavefront Reconstruction Algorithm for Shack-Hartmann Type Wavefront Sensors”, Journal of Optics (IOP), Vol. 16 (5) 055403(2014) was selected as the Journal of Optics paper of the week during 18-25, April 2014. 

• Received best paper award (Gold Medal) in the Optical Instrumentation & Techniques category for the paper entitled “Zonal Wavefront Estimation Using an Array of Hexagonal Grating Patterns”, in the OPTICS’14: International Conference on Light, held at Kerala, India (2014). 

• Received best oral presentation award in the Optical Instrumentation and Optical Metrology category for the paper entitled “An Improved Zonal Wavefront Reconstructor Slope Geometry”, in the XXXVII National Symposium of Optical Society of India, held at Pondicherry, India (2013).

• Received Optical Society of America best student contributory paper award for the paper entitled “An Improved Slope Model for Zonal Wavefront Reconstruction”, in the First IITG OSA Student Chapter Workshop on Optics, held at IIT Guwahati, Assam, India (2012).
