Races at the Bison race track are a fun family event!

At bison racing we have fun family events with classes for everyone.  Sorry, no ATV's or dirt bikes allowed on track for insurance reasons

UTV Classes

Sportsman UTV class definition:

The Sportsman class is a beginner entry level class. The vehicles must be built to Production class rules. The Buffalo Chip Challenge  inspector will have the final say on all sportsman entires. Bison racing reserves the right to split or combine classes to accommodate similar classes of vehicles.

Pro Production Turbo  UTV class definition:

The Production Turbo UTV class vehicles are built using production UTVs  manufactured by registered companies that issue VIN numbers. Companies must produce a minimum of 1,000 units per year to be accepted. UTVs must have two seats and OEM engines must be used with a maximum engine size of 1,000cc. Must use a hood, grill, front and rear fenders from the UTV. All suspension mounting points must be in the OEM location. Shocks must mounted in the OEM locations. All suspension components must be mounted to the chassis in the same loca as delivered by the OEM manufacture. All engines and turbos must remain stock as delivered from the OEM from the intake edge of the turbo to the edge of the exhaust flange. Must use OEM engine electronics. Must use OEM transmission and differentials.


The following are allowed: exhaust header & muffler, air box and filters, clutching and transmission gears, OEM computer reflashing. After market suspension components allowed as long that the OEM pivot locations and geometry are retained. Shocks, springs and valving are open. long travel ok. Components that add reliability may be allowed (manual tensioners, head studs, relocated / split cooling etc). Chassis and suspension reinforcement allowed.

Pro Production N/A  UTV class definition:

The Pro Production N/A  UTV class vehicles are built using production UTVs manufactured by registered companies that issue VIN numbers. Companies must produce a minimum of 1,000 units per year to be accepted. UTVs must have two seats* (1 seat for RS1) and normally aspirated OEM engines must be used with a maximum engine size of 1,000cc*. Must use a hood, grill, front and rear fenders from the UTV. All suspension mounting points must be in the OEM location. Shocks must mount in the OEM locations. All suspension components must be the same dimensions as delivered by the OEM manufacture. All engines must remain stock as delivered from the OEM from the intake edge of the throttle bodies to the edge of the exhaust flange. Must use OEM engine electronics. Must use OEM transmission and differentials.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLASSES

Helmets: Helmets must be of the type approved by the Snell Memorial Foundation with a Snell or DOT sticker attached.

Fire Extinguisher: Portable 2.5-pound fire extinguisher readily accessible to the driver. ABC type or equivalent fire extinguisher. A second 2.5 pound fire extinguisher must be mounted at the rear of the vehicle.

 

Changes / updates / revision - The Bison racing inspector will have the final say on all entries. Bison racing reserves the right to split or combine classes to accommodate similar classes of vehicles. Bison racing reserves the right to revise and update all rules.

 ENTRY FEES 


Pro Unlimited UTV class definition:

The Pro Unlimited UTV class vehicles are built using a factory UTV frame or a full tube custom frame. A motorcycle, snowmobile, or UTV engine must be used with a maximum engine size 2,000cc and no car engines are allowed. Turbochargers and superchargers are allowed. The vehicle must use a hood and front fenders from a UTV and have two seats. Max wheelbase is 140 inches, which can be achieved by cutting the factory frame or building a custom tube frame. Any type of suspension is allowed. This is an open UTV class, with the exception of wheelbase 140-inch, 80-inch width, and a 35-inch tire. Any UTV is legal to race in the Unlimited class. This included RS1’s, engine swaps, custom suspensions, etc.

Experimental / Electric / Hybrid class definition: this is an experimental class open to all electric / hybrid powered SxS based vehicles. Drivetrain and suspension are open. All safety rules apply


The FC-1002 is a 10# automatic system specifically designed for the needs of the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series. The bottle is made of aluminum, the dimensions are 16.85″ X 5.25″, and weighs 17lbs. Each Fc system has two line that would be automatically set off, one at 24″ and the other at 84″. This bottle is SFI’d. System comes with 1.5″ roll bar mounting brackets.    $
