A daughter, community member, and resource enthusiast, Rachel grew up in Benton County for most of her life. She worked hard to give back to her community through volunteering at the local gleaners, the library, the fire department, and the soup kitchen all throughout high school and beyond. She was an active 4-H member and could often be found assisting others in learning new skills or abilities.
After high school, she started college at Linn-Benton Community College and finally settled on a degree path in Human Development and Family Studies. In 2022, she became a part of the Student Leadership Council and continued to grow in knowledge and experience. She chose to take on a new role as Student President in 2023 and led a diverse team of individuals through advocacy for affordability, food security, and funding. In 2023, she was also appointed to the Higher Education Coordinating Commission to further advocate for not just LBCC students but all students in the state of Oregon.
Once Rachel graduated in 2024, she went on to find a degree related job nearby and was fortunate enough to find a job doing what she loved, working at South Benton Food Pantry as the Development Director. Starting this year, she was also able to get a second job working for the State of Oregon as a Public Service Representative, which further boosted her passions to stay committed to her community.
