Worship Song: B-I-B-L-E Bible

We are continuing to learn about the books of the Bible. Today we studied the Books of History.

Joshua Judges Ruth 1 Samuel 2 Samuel

1 Kings 2 Kings 1 Chronicles 2 Chronicles

Ezra Nehemiah Esther

These books show us God’s Faithfulness.

They show us how God was faithful even when His people were not – they forgot Him and they sinned against Him. The Story of Gideon is found in Judges 6 - 7. God showed His faithfulness to His People by saving them using Gideon and 300 men. God is still faithful even when we are not.

Action Items

· Discuss the story of Gideon. Why did God only want Gideon to have a small army? How does this story show that God is faithful?

· Tell stories at the dinner table of times that God has been faithful to your family.

Activities to remind you of the lesson...

God is Faithful:

Get creative to decorate your God is Faithful page. You can color, watercolor, paint, stamp, chalk, anything you can think of. Put it on your refrigerator as a daily reminder! Talk with your child about how God was faithful to Gideon and the Israelites and how He is still faithful to us today. As a family, talk about how He has been faithful to you and your family.

God is Faithful!

Gideon Craft:

Using the Gideon page, have your child color the clay jar and flames. You may need to help your child cut out each piece. Use the paper bag in your packet, or find one at home, and glue the clay jar to the front so that it opens on top like a clay jar. Then find a paper towel tube from home and glue the flames to the end of it. When completed, put the torch in the jar and retell the story together of how God was faithful to Gideon.
