Taskmaster Challenges
These are individual and team challenges you complete to earn points, based on the UK comedy show Taskmaster.
Tasks may include scavenger hunts, timed activities, building something out of unusual items around the house, and what ever other crazy family friendly things I can think of. All tasks will be suited to all ages, so all students, siblings and adults can get involved.
Taskmaster Rules
All activities should be completed in your house or garden.
Read the instructions carefully, there may be a sneaky rule hidden in the task to try trip you up.
One entry per family per task please. First entry will be the only one accepted.
Deadlines:
Each set of task will have a deadline for those in the competition.
If a video has a deadline, ignore it, the one written in the written instructions will be our deadline.
Equipment:
Only use equipment listed.
If you see "creativity" listed under instructions, you can use items not listed, but the ones listed will be essential.
No help from the internet unless the task instructions tell you to use devices.
Most importantly:
Be creative, have fun, and kids get your parents and other adults in the house involved!!
Task 1
Throw a piece of A4 paper into a bin. Most spectacular throw wins.
Time limit: Unlimited
Necessary equipment: A4 paper, bin
Submit for judging: One video no longer than a minute via email.
Task 2
Everyone must return to the table in five minutes wearing as different an outfit as possible. You may not swap clothes with a fellow contestant. Most different outfit wins. Your time starts when your team leader blurts out, 'All change.'
Time limit: 5 minutes, no pre-planning outfits outside of this time please.
Necessary equipment: Creativity
Submit for judging: Take a photo of your team before and after the task. Make sure to label them for the taskmaster.
Task 3
Create the tallest tower. The tower must stand on its own for 10 seconds.
Time limit: Unlimited
Necessary equipment: Creativity, tape measure
Submit for judging: Photo of your tower with its height
Bonus points: Will be given to teams who use unusual items for their tower
Task 4
Make the ideal (best) breakfast/brunch.
Time limit: 1 hour to prepare
Necessary equipment: Kitchen, Food, Creativity
Submit for judging: Take a photo of your family enjoying your breakfast/brunch together.
Task 5
Make a fort that can fit at least 5 people in it.
For an extra bit of fun, see if you can watch a movie together, or complete a puzzle inside your fort.
Time limit: 2 hours
Necessary equipment: Creativity
Submit for judging: A photo of your whole family inside your fort.
Task 6
Camouflage yourself, then reveal yourself.
Time limit: 1 hour
Necessary equipment: Creativity
Judging: Video of you hidden then moving to show where you are . Please keep videos to within 1 minute
Task 7
Build the longest bridges that you can using only recycled paper or cardboard and tape.
Time limit: 3 hours
Necessary equipment: Recycled paper or cardboard, tape
Judging: Photo and measurement of your bridge
Task 8
Holding your hands behind your back at all times, put something on your head. Fastest wins. Your time starts when your Taskmaster is satisfied you are all holding your hands behind your back and tells you so.
Time limit: Unlimited
Necessary equipment: Creativity, Timer
Judging: Photo of your object on your head and the time it took to get it balanced.
Bonus points: For more difficult items, think creatively about what object you try to put on your head
Task 9
Make the best dancing elephant
Time limit: 6 hours
Necessary equipment: Creativity
Judging: Video of your dancing elephant
Task 10
Get an egg as high as possible without breaking it.
Time limit: 1 hour
Necessary equipment: Creativity, egg
Judging: Photo of your egg, with measurement
Task 11
Move a heavy object as far away as possible in 2 minutes.
Time limit: 2 minutes
Necessary equipment: Heavy object of your choice
Judging: Video or photo of your object, measurement of how far you move it
Task 12
Throw a teabag into a mug from the furthest distance.
Time limit: Unlimited
Necessary equipment: Teabag, Cup
Judging: Video of your throw, measurement of the distance thrown
Task 13
Take an impressive photograph
Time limit: Unlimited
Necessary equipment: Camera, Creativity
Judging: Your impressive photo
Task 14
Paint a picture while blindfolded
(If you do not have paints, you can use felts/crayons/colouring pencils)
Time limit: 2 hours
Necessary equipment: blindfold, paper, paint, paint brushes, colouring pencils, felts, crayons
Judging: Picture of your painting
Task 15
Make something spin for the longest period of time.
The object needs to spin on its own, and cannot be touched after it has started.
Time limit: Unlimited
