Welcome to the BIOVITIS Research Group
We are a research group that belongs to the Department of Viticulture of the Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences (ICVV, La Rioja, Spain). We combine applied and basic investigations into the biology, ecology, epidemiology and control of grapevine diseases caused by fungi, primarily trunk diseases (GTDs).
The research lines carried out by our group are:
Evaluation of the impact of biotic and abiotic factors on the grapevine microbiome and its interaction with fungal trunk diseases.
Genetic diversity and population structure of soil-borne pathogens of grapevine.
Morphological and molecular characterization of fungal pathogens associated with grapevines, with a special emphasis on the genera Cadophora and Phaeoacremonium.
