I am Aarini Ghosh from India. I hold both bachelor's and master's degrees in Zoology. I currently submitted my Ph.D. thesis under department of biology at Ashoka University. I worked as a teaching fellow at Ashoka University, India, besides that I have worked as research staff at Bat Conservation India Trust (BCIT) NGO.
The best one line description about me could be "a researcher with explorer soul".
My research centers on the intersection of ecology, animal behavior, evolution, and conservation, with a specific emphasis on bioacoustics. During my PhD, I conducted research on the divergence of calls among Katydids (bush-crickets) in India. My expertise extends to recording various terrestrial sounds, encompassing birds, anurans, insects, and bats. I am fascinated by the acoustic communication of diverse organisms and remain dedicated to exploring the intricate world of sound in the natural environment.
In addition to my scientific endeavors, I harbor a profound interest in immersing myself in the exploration of diverse nature, communities, cultures, and ethnicities across the globe. Traveling is not just a means of discovery for me, it's a lifestyle. I find joy in engaging in a myriad of adventure activities that push my boundaries and offer unique perspectives.
Weaving adventure with science is my future groove. 🌍🔬
Famous naturalist Theodore Roosevelt once said,
“The wildlife and its habitat cannot speak, so we must, and we will”.
but as a bioacoustician I think "they" do speak but we human first have to listen and understand them!!
*** Looking for job positions related to wildlife/bioacoustics research work . Also, I am keen for applying into a post doc positions and writing grants for post doc.
