June 3-6, 2026, Bucharest, Romania
Jointly organized by the International Centre of Biodynamics (ICB) and the University of Bucharest under the aegis of the Romanian Academy
“Cellular dynamics: advances and challenges in multi-omics integration, single-cell and host-microbe interaction analysis”
Aim: Strengthen a collaborative center of excellence in Biodynamics, fostering synergy among researchers in multi-omics, high-resolution cellular dynamics, and microbe-host interactions. Together, we strive to uncover the principles that govern living systems and translate this knowledge into transformative biomedical innovations.
How: An open format, combining lectures with round table discussions for feeding future trans-disciplinary collaborations.
Who: As for the last edition (2022, Bucharest - https://sites.google.com/view/biodynamics2022/home), this event will gather top-level international scientists with contributions aligned with the symposium's topics and biodynamics related fields, from Cell & Molecular Biology to Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, (bio)Engineering, Bioinformatics and AI.
A transdisciplinary approach is increasingly recognized as essential for addressing urgent biomedical challenges, including resistance in pathogens, microorganisms, and tumor cells. Rather than simply fostering collaboration between separate disciplines, it builds a shared framework in which biological mechanisms, computational models, clinical evidence, technological tools, and societal constraints are integrated into a unified problem-solving strategy.
Topics
1. Transdisciplinary approaches to quantifying the dynamics of cellular systems in developmental, healthy, and pathological states
2. Cell dynamics: from genotypic and phenotypic structure to function
3. Cell physiomics of microorganisms: a biomedical perspective on drug response
4. Assessment of pathogenic resistance
5. (AI assisted) Electron & Optical microscopy for quantifying cellular dynamics
6. Biosensing platforms for cell dynamics analysis

Other leading scientists are expected to confirm their participation.
The detailed program (under preparation) will offer ample room for lectures (40' - keynote, 30’ - invited, 20’ - regular & 5’ - short talks for students with poster presentations), round table discussions and access to laboratory test platforms* as an enabling breadboard for future transdisciplinary collaboration avenues.
*The recent advancements of ICB for phenotypic multi-dimensional analysis provide the suitable framework for the envisaged transdisciplinary interactions. The unique merger of label and label-free formats for high-resolution assessment of live cell functional dynamics at both single-cell and population levels available within ICB offer a breadboard platform for cell and molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology studies, as well as for drug-induced bio-effect analyses.
Note: The meeting of the International Advisory Board of ICB (https://www.biodyn.ro/php/biodyn.php?act=International-Advisory-Board&idm=2&idsm=36&locale=en) will be organized within the Symposium.
