Pre-game

Pre-Game Responsibilities 

Call your partner 1-2 days before game day and discuss the following: 

A. Type of game 

B. Who’s doing plate / bases 

C. Meeting place 

D. Meeting time 

E. Uniform 

a. Baseball – charcoal pants, color of patched shirt 

b. Softball – color of pants, color of shirt (NO PATCH) 

F. Make, model, color of car 

Arrive at the game site at least 30 minutes prior to game time. 

A. Get dressed for game 

B. Talk to partner – go over pre-game checklist 

C. Walk to field together 

a. Baseball – 10 minutes before game time 

b. Softball – 15 minutes before game time 

i. Check equipment outside dugout 

D. Fill out voucher if necessary 

5 minutes before game time, meet at home plate for ground rules / verify line ups 

Pre-game Checklist 

Always exit the field with your partner, preferably through the winning team’s bench area.
