More about Krista:
Krista was born in Soonerland at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, OK. Her mom, Stacy Braddock-Dunn, pitched for the Oklahoma Sooners. When Krista was born her dad was in his second month of what would be four years of medical school at the OU Health Sciences Center in OKC. At age four Krista and her family moved down to San Antonio, TX so her dad could complete five years of an ENT residency. While there she enjoyed playing soccer and softball at the local leagues, and also enjoyed gymnastics and dance. After residency, Krista's dad got orders form the Air Force to move to Dayton, Ohio. It was at this stop she started her travelball career. Krista became known as pitcher that could be relied on for her consistency and ability to hit her spots. Krista also developed a nasty knuckle ball and extra change up. When Krista's dad's Air Force time was up, her family moved to Billings, MT for what would be the general place she would spend the rest of her childhood. Krista joined a club softball team immediately and discovered it was not the same positive experience she had in Ohio with her "Sting" team. The following year her mom formed the Blizzard with the help of her Dad. Her sister, Charity, was also on the team. And a new adventure began. Around the age of 14, Krista grew considerably in height to just over six feet tall. She decided pitching "hurt too much" and stopped pitching for a year. Although tall, Krista is incredibly fast on foot, so she took to the centerfield and 1st base. Krista missed her freshman highschool softball season thanks to a local move across town to Shepherd, MT. It was after this move, Krista's sophomore year, when her highschool softball coach, Lori Goodell, talked her back into pitching. Krista picked up right where she left off: consistent, dependable, and competitive. She no longer hurt like before. Over the next two years Krista's confidence made huge gains and she continues to get more and more comfortable with her tall, strong frame. Krista's speed continues to increase, as well as her softball IQ. For Krista softball has always been a constant in her life. She has also enjoyed playing basketball, soccer, and volleyball over the years. It was after sophomore year that Krista decided to completely funnel to softball. And we are GLAD she did! She's a force to reckon with and a competitor. Krista hopes to play competitive college ball and get her degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design.
Krista's Interests: art, sports, rocks, nature, hiking, lifting weights, etc.
