ABOUT BLIZZARD:
Billings Blizzard Fastpitch is much more than seven teams. We are a service minded non-profit organization who looks to develop our youth into collegiate athletes through superior training, competition, and exposure. Although growing athletically is important to us, we target the human being inside first. We very much care about the character growth of each of our athletes. Each of our teams within the organization has their own flare thanks to the coach who runs it. But overall, all have access to elite equipment, an elite indoor facility, and training instruction meant to inspire Blizzard athletes to become the best version of themselves. Rome wasn't built in a day. Our youngest teams 10u-14u are meant to be purely developmental where fundamentals for the game are layed down and a love for this sport is strongly fostered. Some of our teams compete more than others.
Our 16u team is brand new this year. We are looking for girls who are interested in playing college softball. We have some exciting help with this team coming.
Our 18u Blizzard Elite team's goal is to be the first National team in the state of Montana. We have observed that our best athletes leave Montana and join teams from California to Texas to Illinois, etc. Our goal is to grow it at home! And we are doing just that! We find it a shame to see girls opting out of playing softball in our state because a path doesn't exist for them here. Our 18u Blizzard Elite team will compete in Triple Crown Showcases in the fall, will travel to the best competition we can find during regular season, and will attend a National Championship. We have the pitching and catching to do so. Our goal is simple: to play the best so we can become the best. And to forge a path for elite fast-pitch softball in Montana.
Billings Blizzard Fastpitch exists in order to offer an elite youth fastpitch softball experience at an affordable price point in the greater Billings, MT area.
Our players live in: Billings, Laurel, Lockwood, Shepherd, Huntley, Worden, Hardin, Roundup & Cody, Wyoming.
2021 -2022: Billings Blizzard Fastpitch was founded by former University of Oklahoma Softball Pitcher, Stacy Braddock Dunn. Stacy ran a 14u development team and laid the foundation for the program.
2022-2023: Billings Blizzard 16U team took the National Championship Title at the Roseville, CA 16U B Western Nationals - a first for Montana. It was the first time any girl on the Billings Blizzard had attended a Nationals!
2023-2024: 16U team won USA Softball of Montata State Title, and competed in Seattle at the 18U A USA Softball Western Nationals. 12U team founded, led by MSUB star short-stop Jessica Sullivan. We kicked off a NEW tournament called "Magic City's 4 the Girls Challenger". It was a hit! And it was indeed for the girls! We made a $50 profit (the goal was to break even), while giving away brand new bats, Nokona gloves, sliding mitts, pitching tools, free t-shirts, etc. via a Friday night "skills event". It was a first of its kind for Montana. First, second, and third place teams for 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u, & 18u divisions were given fancy trophy rings (1st & 2nd), or medals (3rd). MVP rings were given per each division. The tournament was a HUGE SUCCESS for Billings. We were able to use Stewart Park, light it up at night, and pay our umpires well. We hosted teams from Canada, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. We look forward to doing even more this coming year with our ultimate goal of making women's sports in Billings a HUGE positive.
2024 - 2025: Billings Blizzard Fastpitch has exploded. More girls are getting to play elite fastpitch softball at a reasonable price point. We had 10u, 12u, 14u, & 18u teams. 10u, 12u, and 14u attended the Montana State tournament for the first time, while 18U Blizzard Elite broke ground for Montana softball at the 18u Gold Nationals at Devon. Park in OKC. This 18u Blizzard Elite team won the first game ever for a Montana team at an 18U Gold Nationals. These girls can't wait to get back next year and go for more. The Magic City's 4 the Girls Challenger was again a success gaining momentum for the sport of softball in the NW region.
2025-2026: Billings Blizzard Fastpitch is supporting SEVEN teams in the greater Billings, MT area. We are busy getting a 16u team off the ground. Coach training is at the heart of our organizational goals this year. We realize we can impact more girls if we first impact the coaches with proper training. We are also investing more in learning the recruiting process in order to help get our girls "4 more years" at the collegiate level. We are excited as to what the future holds for Billings Blizzard Fastpitch and for softball in Montana/Wyoming.
Play ball!!! But first, let's pray.
