After delving into the trial transcripts, police reports, and what appeared to be overlooked evidence, I wanted to tell a story that re-examines the famous and tragic killing of Selena Quintanilla. Through this process of making Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them, I uncovered inconsistencies in the narrative presented by law enforcement and the prosecution, which was later corroborated by the press. My intention was to explore these discrepancies and offer a more nuanced perspective on the accusations against Yolanda Saldivar, which may not align with the full scope of the story.
