This school year we are going to carry out an eTwinning Project called Cooking Sustainability. This project deals with Sustainable Development Goals, especially with Goal 12, whose main objective is about decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation , increasing resource efficiency and promoting sustainable lifestyles.
So our project is focused on changing our consumption and production patterns towards a more sustainable future. To achieve this goal, we will try to make parents and students conscious of the importance of having a healthy lifestyle, doing exercise and being fit and following a balanced diet as well. Thus, many of the activities related to this project will enhance students to improve and change their habits by having a healthy diet, eating vegetables, proteins, fruit and consuming seasonal and km 0 products, in order to reduce consumption and production destructive impacts on the planet. We will also focus on the relevance of Trash Cooking,, as each year an estimated 1/3 of all food produced ends up rotting in the bins of consumers and retaliers, or spolling due to poor transportation and harvesting practices.
Besides, the project will take part in the contest that La Junta organizes every year, Concurso de Buenas Prácticas Docentes.so we will do many different activities throughout the year to bring out our good teaching practices. The first activities teachers and students have carried out have dealt with celebrating THE WORLD FOOD DAY :
1º ESO Students have made posters giving tips to have a healthy lifestyle.
2º ESO Students have elaborated healthy and sustainable menus including seasonal products, km 0 products and Trash Cooking .
The prize has consisted of having a lunch at the Cooking and Restaurant Educational Cycle facilities. To see photos of their works and their culinary experience, click on this link,
