Education Program
I volunteer at a museum, located in scenic Brodhead WI, that seeks to preserve historic aircraft from the Golden Age of aviation between the world wars. Their education mission links the advances in aviation during this time period with the science and technology advancements of the time. For instance, paved runways meant that airplanes could have smaller wings for higher landing speeds which allowed higher flying speeds. Tires could now be small enough to retract into the wings, making these higher flying speeds possible. Find out about other technologies like celestial navigation, radio communication and weather forecasting that led to better airplanes and improved usefulness for passenger and cargo service. I like to bike, so I've also got some content in here that relates to bicycle aerodynamics.
