Application

To be considered for the event, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be between 13 and 18 years old.

• Submit a signed permission slip to their school office by the designated deadline.

• Maintain passing grades or have at least a 70% attendance rate.

• Have no affiliations with gangs or other hateful organized groups.

To be considered for the event, performances must meet the following requirements:

• Be under 6 minutes in length.

• Meet the criteria for its performance category.

• Contain no cursing, violent, or political content.

• Have no display of bandanas or other gang-affiliated items.

Winners will be selected through voting conducted by attendees at the event, including staff members, school faculty, students, performers, family members, and law enforcement officers. The winner of the open mic night will have the opportunity to record a single with a top producer. Runners-up may also be eligible to participate in the recording of a mixtape and be featured alongside a high-profile artist.
