Welcome to Big Pill Reminder ("we," "us," "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the MedicationManager mobile application (the "App"). The App is designed to help you manage your medication schedules, track your medication history, and optionally share this information. Your data is primarily stored locally on your device.

Information We Collect (or, How We Handle Your Data)

Big Pill Reminder is designed with your privacy in mind. The core functionality of the app involves storing data locally on your device.

Data You Provide:
- Medication Details: When you add a medication, you provide information such as the medication name, dosage, form, schedule (including times and frequency), start and end dates, reminder preferences (like sound choice), and any personal notes you add.
- Medication History Logs: When you mark a medication as taken, skipped, or interact with doses on the dashboard, the App creates a log entry including the medication, status, dosage, and the timestamp of the action.
Data Stored Locally: All the medication details and history logs you enter are stored exclusively on your device using its local storage capabilities. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers by default.
Data Export and Sharing:
- The App allows you to generate an image of your medication history for sharing. This sharing is initiated entirely by you, and you control who you share this image with.
- The App allows you to export all your medication data (including medication details and history logs) as a JSON file. This export is initiated by you, and you are responsible for the security and storage of the exported file.
Feedback and Support: If you choose to contact us for support or to provide feedback (e.g., via the "Send Feedback" feature), you may provide us with your email address and the content of your communication. We will use this information solely to respond to your inquiries and improve the App.

We Do Not Collect:

We do not require you to create an account to use the core features of the App.
We do not automatically collect personal identification information from you unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., through feedback).
We do not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes within the App.

How We Use Your Information

The information you enter into the App is used for the following purposes:

To Provide App Functionality: To enable you to schedule medication reminders, track your medication history, and manage your medication list as intended by the App.
Local Notifications: To send you reminders on your device at the times you have scheduled.
Data Export/Sharing (User-Initiated): To allow you to export your data or share your history when you choose to do so.
To Respond to Your Inquiries: If you contact us, we will use the information you provide to address your questions or feedback.
To Improve the App: We may use anonymized, aggregated usage data (if any is ever collected, which currently it is not by default) or feedback to understand how the App is used and to make improvements. Any such data would be stripped of personal identifiers.

We will not sell, rent, or share your personally identifiable medication data stored within the app with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: As mentioned, your primary medication data and history logs are stored locally on your device. The security of this data is dependent on the security measures you take for your device itself (e.g., passcode, biometric authentication).
Exported Data: If you choose to export your data, you are responsible for the security and storage of the exported file. We recommend storing it in a secure location.
No Cloud Storage by Default: MedicationManager does not automatically back up or sync your data to the cloud. If you wish to back up your data, you should use the "Export All Data" feature and manage the backup file yourself, or utilize your device's general backup features (e.g., iCloud device backup), which may include app data.

Data Sharing (User-Controlled)

The App itself does not automatically share your medication data with anyone. You are in control of sharing:

Sharing History Image: When you use the "Share History" feature, you choose the recipients and method of sharing.
Exporting Data: When you use the "Export All Data" feature, you choose where to save or send the exported JSON file.
Feedback: When you send feedback via email, you are sharing the content of that email with us.

Your Choices and Rights

Accessing, Editing, and Deleting Your Data: You can access, edit, and delete your medication information and logs directly within the App at any time. Deleting a medication will also remove its associated history (if cascade delete is implemented as such) and cancel its future notifications.
Notification Permissions: You can manage notification permissions for the App through your device's system settings.
Data Export: You have the right to export your data using the "Export All Data" feature in the Settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our support webpage and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
