As researchers who specialize in educational software, we recognize the power and importance of classroom teachers. Even when using educational software provides automated interventions, students benefit from having teachers who understand when a student is learning, what causes a student to stumble, and what prevents a student from ultimately mastering various educational objectives.
To that end, we are providing opportunities for teachers to receive professional development from scholars who are trained in the learning sciences. These PD opportunities will provide instruction on how data is collected in various digital learning environments, and it will help teachers determine how to best use that data to help students in their classrooms.
Our last PD workshop, led by Dr. Ivon Arroyo, was held in August 2017 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Further information about it can be found in this flier.
Teachers who are interested in hearing more about our software partners or who may be interested in signing up for an upcoming PD workshop can provide their contact information here.
Ryan Baker, Neil Heffernan and Bev Woolf will hold a day long workshop Feb 16th at MIT. Room and more details soon
