Materials needed: an apple, two tablespoons of baking soda, three tablespoons of vinegar, paint powder and some kind of tray in which to do the experiment.
Carve a crater in the middle of the apple with a knife. The hole should be cylindrical to the middle of the apple. Place the apple in the middle of the tray and pour the soda into the crater. Pour the paint powder over the baking soda, stirring gently. Finally, carefully and slowly pour the vinegar into the crater.
Enjoy the volcano erupting directly from the apple.
What is happening?
After mixing the baking soda and acetic acid, this chemical reaction occurs – like a volcano!
