We held a final symposium for the UK Organ-on-a-chip network in September 2022, with great talks and around 200 attendees. The QMUL Centre for Predictive in vitro models now picks up the reins!

Welcome to new starters!
It's been a busy autumn with new people starting in the lab, all getting stuck into exciting new projects! Alice Scemama has joined us as an NC3Rs PhD student, Fay Pickering has joined as a LIDo DTP rotation student, and Anna Matusiewicz has joined as an intercalating medical student. You can read more about them and their projects HERE. We went out for lunch to welcome everyone but I forgot to take a photo over lunch so here's a photo of us all back at the Blizard Institute later on!

Ending the summer with a lab pizza trip in the sunshine! This time to say goodbye to Rainha Passi, who has done great work as a summer student investigating signalling mechanisms maintaining the EMT state in oral cancer. She now goes on to MSc studies. We have also already said goodbye to Keerthana Sasitharan, who has returned to the final year of her BSc studies at QMUL. She spent the summer on an AFRUK summer studentship, working with Gehad on his exciting machine learning project. We will miss them both!

Goodbye Nathalia and hello Avik!
At the end of April 2019, Nathalia headed back to Brazil to finish her PhD. Nathalia has done great work in her 6 months here, and we will miss her! But not to fear - Avik has joined us to pick up the baton of Nathalia's project for his 3 month Regenerative Medicine MSc project. Here we all are on the way back from our now-traditional pizza lunch.

It's goodbye to Olivia, as she re-joins the Barts and the London MBBS programme in September 2018 after spending a year with us, first as an intercalating BSc student and then extending her project through an AFRUK summer studentship. Olivia will be sorely missed!
