The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. It is a world class biomedical research institution, integrating basic science, clinical research and translational research activity within a unique and award-winning facility.

The Blizard Building provides state of the art laboratory and office accommodation based on an innovative open plan design, with core facilities for:

· flow cytometry

· tissue imaging

· phenotypic screening

· 3D tissue printing

· Simoa platform

· Blizard Advanced Light Microscopy (BALM)

· QMUL’s Genome Centre

The open plan arrangement maximizes the mixing of research groups and promotes the development of interdisciplinary projects.

The Institute is organised into five research & education centres; Cell Biology & Cutaneous Research, Genomics & Child Health, Immunobiology, Neuroscience & Trauma, and Primary Care & Public Health. Each of these centres is based around shared research themes with a 6^th centre, the Centre of the Cell, focussed on Public Engagement.
