This policy explains what information the Bible Verses app ("the app", "we") handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is published by Parth Vaddoriya. Questions: parthapplevaddoriya@gmail.com.
You don't create an account, and we don't ask for your email, phone number or location.
Your name, photo, notes, bookmarks, reading progress and Ask history stay on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. We cannot read them.
Questions you ask in "Ask the Bible", and the verses you open study pages for, are sent to our server and to Google's Gemini service so an answer can be written.
We use Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.
We don't show ads, and we don't sell your information.
The following is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), so it comes back when you reinstall the app or use another of your devices. It is protected by your Apple Account and is not accessible to us.
The name and profile photo you choose to enter
Notes, bookmarks, and saved stories, characters and themes
Reading progress, your reading streak and daily goal
Your Ask the Bible conversation history
Settings such as translation, appearance, reminder time and widget choices
Study and Apply to Life pages you have already opened
Daily verse reminders are scheduled on your device. They are local notifications; the reminder time is not sent to us.
When you use these features, the app sends our server the question you typed (and earlier turns of that conversation, for follow-up questions) or the verse you opened. Our server passes this to Google's Gemini API to write the response. Questions and the answers written for them are kept on our server, without any identifier that links them to you, so the same question can be answered faster next time. Please don't include personal or sensitive information in your questions.
With each of these requests the app sends an identifier that Apple generates for our app on your device (the "identifier for vendor"). We use it only to limit how many requests one device can make per hour, to prevent abuse. It is stored with the time of the request. It does not identify you personally, and it changes if you delete and reinstall the app.
If you send feedback from the Help screen, we receive your message, your email address if you choose to give one, the app version, your device model and iOS version, and the device identifier described above. It is emailed to us so we can read and reply.
The app uses Google Firebase:
Firebase Analytics — which screens are opened and actions such as asking a question, adding a note or bookmark, sharing a verse, or viewing the subscription screen, together with general device information (model, iOS version, language, country). We also record whether the device has Premium and which plan. This is not linked to your name or email.
Firebase Crashlytics — technical details of a crash, so we can fix it.
Firebase Cloud Messaging — a push-notification token for your device.
The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Purchases are made through your Apple Account; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history for this app (product, dates, trial and renewal status, price and country of the store).
Apple (iCloud/CloudKit, App Store purchases, notifications)
Supabase — our server and database, hosted in the United States
Google — Gemini API, and Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging
RevenueCat — subscription management
Resend — delivers feedback messages to us by email
These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy policies. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Request records used for hourly limits (device identifier and time): kept only as long as needed to prevent abuse.
Cached questions and answers: kept, without an identifier, to serve the same question again.
Feedback: kept until it has been dealt with, or until you ask us to delete it.
Analytics and crash data: kept by Firebase for its standard retention periods.
Delete notes, bookmarks, saved items and Ask history inside the app at any time.
Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Data in your iCloud can be removed in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Turn notifications off in Settings › Notifications › Bible Verses.
Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
To ask what we hold about a piece of feedback you sent, or to have it deleted, email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to its use. Email us and we will respond.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
