                    In Sanskrit, "Bhumija" translates to "Born from the Earth." This profound meaning is deeply rooted in the cultural ethos, symbolizing the connection with our motherland, the very source of life. Taking inspiration from the sacred birthplace of Sita, known as Bhumija, the heart of the Seetamadhi region, we proudly present Bhumija The Arts & Culture Foundation, Sitamarhi.

Established on July 6, 2023, our foundation is a dedicated proponent of performing arts and theater, leveraging these mediums to foster social, cultural, educational, and creative skills development. Through a plethora of activities encompassing dance, drama, art & craft, photography, and regional cinema, we aim to elevate and empower individuals, encouraging the exploration of their inherent talents. At Bhumija, we believe in holistic development, not only in the realm of the arts but also in education and community initiatives. From conducting workshops on school education, science, and knowledge for children to establishing libraries, museums, and cultural spaces, our foundation strives to create an environment that stimulates learning and creativity.

Founded by Nitish Priyadarshi, an artist and research scholar, and co-founded by Surendra Sah and Avanish Kumar, social workers and self-employed individuals, Bhumija draws strength and guidance from Dr. Om Prakash Bharti (HOD,Performing Arts film & theatre) at Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya, Wardha, Maharashtra.

Our diverse initiatives extend beyond the arts to address social issues and challenges. From awareness campaigns to rural health and cleanliness, women and child health, social empowerment, soil and water conservation, protection of flora and fauna, and specialized programs for dairy farming, Bhumija actively contributes to community development.
