Hi, I’m Briana Hoffman! I am a second-year interpreting student in the ASL-English Interpreting Program at Salt Lake Community College. Being part of this program is the fulfillment of a childhood dream to become an ASL interpreter, and I am thrilled to be here.

• I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and first discovered my love for ASL in high school. I later moved to Utah to attend BYU, where I studied dance, music, and family life before earning my BS in Home and Family Living.

• As a licensed Real Estate Agent for the past eight years, I have developed strong skills in communication, problem-solving, client advocacy, and attention to detail. My work in housing, finance, design, and contract law has taught me to navigate complex situations with professionalism and care.

• Through supporting close family members through serious medical challenges, I have gained familiarity with medical environments and terminology. These experiences have strengthened my empathy, resilience, and ability to remain calm under pressure, and they have inspired a strong interest in medical interpreting.

• Outside of work and school, I enjoy cooking, interior design, gardening, reading, writing, hiking, dancing, re-watching favorite TV shows, and spending time outdoors. Most of all, I love making memories with my husband and children—usually with plenty of laughter involved.
