Hi, I’m Briana Hoffman! I am a second-year interpreting student in the ASL-English Interpreting Program at Salt Lake Community College. Being part of this program is the fulfillment of a childhood dream to become an ASL interpreter, and I am thrilled to be here.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and first discovered my love for ASL in high school. I later moved to Utah to attend BYU, where I studied dance, music, and family life before earning my BS in Home and Family Living.
As a licensed Real Estate Agent for the past eight years, I have developed strong skills in communication, problem-solving, client advocacy, and attention to detail. My work in housing, finance, design, and contract law has taught me to navigate complex situations with professionalism and care.
Through supporting close family members through serious medical challenges, I have gained familiarity with medical environments and terminology. These experiences have strengthened my empathy, resilience, and ability to remain calm under pressure, and they have inspired a strong interest in medical interpreting.
Outside of work and school, I enjoy cooking, interior design, gardening, reading, writing, hiking, dancing, re-watching favorite TV shows, and spending time outdoors. Most of all, I love making memories with my husband and children—usually with plenty of laughter involved.
