Sirius Dwaraka for Google chrome browser- An Opensource Downloadable Web app which works completely Offline with an awesome Scientific Calculator, Unit converter, Equation Editor etc to make you more productive!
Maxima is computer algebra system
GNU Octave is (mostly) Matlab compatible, and includes Windows distributions.
Sage for offline use (note: includes many other open source tools including Maxima, GNUPlot, etc.)
LT Spice Simulator Also runs on Linux using Wine.
Graph Win32 opensource graphing program. Also runs on Linux using Wine.
Micro-Cap Evaluation Also runs on Linux using Wine.
Maxima with the wxMaxima front end. A huge benefit for avoiding algebra errors
LT Spice, TINA-TI, and Veecad all work under WINE (see Windows above)
Search your package manager for: Qucs, Oregano, gnucap, ngspice, gEDA, ktechlab, easy-spice (note: some of these are related, e.g., easy-spice is a front end for ngspice and uses gEDA's gschem for schematic capture)
gEDA - Details of the different parts of the gEDA super-package
GNU Octave is (mostly) Matlab compatible. Qt Octave is a graphical front end. Can be useful for 6.002X, but much more for OCW math courses like 18.02, 18.03, 18.06. [note to Colini: apparently we clobbered each other on this edit so I'm putting it back in]
XSpice - has code-based models like digital gates, integrators, etc.
IRSIM Digital Simulator - Can run under Windows with cygwin
Extcalc Extcalc is a scientfic graphic calculator for Linux. In beta but very usable.
Fedor Electronic Lab (FEL) Fedora electronic lab is a Fedora spin which contains most of the above software and a lot more packaged together in a live CD. A big advantage of using FEL is that it is maintained by people working in the electronics industry. If you are already using Fedora, you can run yum groupinstall 'Electronic Lab' as root.

Every Circuit - Design and simulate electronic circuits
Electrodroid Powerful collection of electronics tools and reference
Droid Tesla - DroidTesla is a simple and powerful SPICE engine. SPICE is an acronym for Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis and was inspired by the need to accurately model devices used in integrated circuit design.
Mathematics - Brilliant little collection of equation calculators.
