Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan
A religious and educational institution affiliated with the Laxmi Narayan Dev Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan is based in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. Following a 1946 visit to Badrinath, a revered pilgrimage site in the Himalayas, Shastriji Maharaj Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami was inspired to build an educational school.
With assistance from Pujya Purani Swami, Shree Premprakashdasji Swami, Pujya Mugat Swami, Shree Nitrannamuktadasji Swami, and Tribhuvan Gaurishankar Vyas, Shastriji Maharaj formed the organization in Rajkot in 1947. Through its chapters around the world, the organization aims to impart Sadvidya (genuine education), as promoted by Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and to teach Indian cultural heritage. Rajkot, Junagadh, Surat, Poicha (Nilkanthdham), Hyderabad, Taravada, and Bangalore are some of its principal branches in India. Dallas, Paramus (New Jersey), Phoenix, and Atlanta are among its branches in the USA.
