Welcome to Basal ganglia group of Computational Neuroscience lab at IIT-Madras.

We are developing a unified model of the basal ganglia that explain a wide variety of motor and cognitive symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). We are also currently working to develop quantitative and optimal clinical therapies for PD.

Objectives

• What are the causes of dopaminergic cell loss in the substantia nigra in Parkinson's disease ?

• Can we develop a patient specific test-bench for PD patients to evaluate different treatment regimes ?
