Beyond Words was founded by Caty Kuczkowski, a pediatric speech therapist. She loves watching her clients gain confidence and connect with the world around them. She has worked with children with an array of needs, including Autism, rare genetic disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), speech sound disorders, and early intervention (birth to 3 years old).
Over the years Caty has developed an unwavering passion for all things Autism after learning more about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Gestalt Language Processing (GLP), and Neurodiversity. She believes that all therapists need to be trained in these skills in order to achieve a better future for our kids. Beyond Words is committed to helping give your child the confidence and the tools they need to communicate their wants and needs, but also their deep interests, to self-advocate, and to share their joy.
Caty is also bilingual in English and Spanish and specializes in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) populations. She is grateful to have the opportunity to work with different cultures and embraces each family's unique story.
Caty attended NC State University for her bachelor's degree in Spanish and Communication and NC Central for her graduate degree in Communication Disorders in 2020. She is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
In her free time Caty loves spending time with her husband, baby boy, and golden retriever. She enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, reading, and cooking a yummy meal.

Since 2017, Amy has had the privilege of working across diverse settings—including early intervention (birth to three), school systems, outpatient hospital clinics, and private practice—bringing a well-rounded and flexible approach to therapy.
Her clinical expertise includes speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and feeding and swallowing disorders from infancy through adolescence. Amy is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and is trained in conducting video fluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) to support comprehensive evaluation and care.
Originally from Seattle and now based in Raleigh, Amy brings a warm, creative, and engaging energy to every session. She strongly values parent coaching and caregiver involvement, and believes that therapy is most effective when families are active partners in the process.

In her free time she loves spending time outdoors hiking, going on family adventures with her husband son, exploring new places, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
