About the Twinning Association

OUR AIMS
  • To strengthen the ties of friendship between the people of Beverley and those of Nogent-sur-Oise
  • Develop relations between the two towns
  • Promote and support exchanges between cultural, sporting and educational organisations

The twinning association generally meets on the second Wednesday of each other month at Lempicka Cafe in Wednesday Market.

ACTIVITIES

Each year we visit Nogent where we stay with local families. In return, the Nogentais visit Beverley once a year and stay with us. This visits are planned in advance and there is always a great programme of events planned. Recent highlights have been:

  • 2015: Visit and lunch to local independant champagne producer Paul Leredde
  • 2016: Guided tour of l'Assemblée Nationale
  • 2017: Tour of Chantilly racing stables
  • 2018: Visit to the Somme Memorial Grounds

In order to support these events we also hold fund-raising events throughout the year. These are typically: tombola stores, film nights, wine tastings, quiz nights etc. and are also social occasions.

It is not a requirement to speak French! If your French is not up to speed we try to pair people up so that at least one person in the party can speak both English and French. We also have strong links with the Anglo French Association in Beverley.
