Hi, I am Betül Simsek.

I am a Research Associate at the Institute of Law and Economics, University of Hamburg. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hamburg.

My research lies at the intersection of development economics and international law. In my work, I focus on the determinants of migration. A second strand of my research investigates why states comply with international law.
