Hi, I am Betül Simsek.

I am a Research Associate at the Institute of Law and Economics, University of Hamburg, where I also received my Ph.D. in Economics.

My research lies at the intersection of development economics and international law. One strand of my research examines the determinants of migration. A second strand focuses on the economic analysis of international law and the factors that shape state compliance.
