We are developing knowledge and skills as STEM faculty around equitable, student-centered indicators that comprise the shared framework for effective instruction through job-embedded professional development that is both intensive and prolonged over time.
Members of Instructional Change Teams observe each other teaching and debrief their observations. The ICT meets prior to the observation so the instructor can share the lesson goals and which indicators they are focusing on during instruction. Following the observation, the ICT meets again to talk about the lesson observed. An observation and discussion protocol is provided to support this work.
