Ms. Lowe was a beloved Social Studies teacher at Bethune Middle School. She began her career here in 1970, and went on to teach for 23 years. She was active in many leadership activities including the Girls' League and the Bethune Drill Team. Maxcine was also a mentor teacher and was known for her kindness, professionalism, and her passion for helping her students to succeed. She taught until her passing in 1993; the Bethune library was renamed and dedicated to her memory on November 19th of that year.
