Bethlen Gábor Reformed Grammar School and Szathmáry Boarding School is one of the oldest secondary schools in Hungary. Founded in 1723, our school has more than three centuries of educational tradition while continuously adapting to the challenges of modern education. Today, we combine strong academic foundations with innovation, international cooperation and a supportive school community.

Our Erasmus+ journey began in 2023, when we started preparing our first KA1 mobility projects. From the very beginning, our goal was to make international cooperation an integral part of our everyday educational work and to create opportunities that would support the professional and personal development of both our students and our staff.

In the autumn of 2024, a dedicated team of teachers was formed to prepare our first successful Erasmus+ project together. Their commitment and hard work resulted in our school being awarded funding for its first KA122-SCH short-term mobility project in May 2025.

Since then, Erasmus+ has become an important part of our school's life. Building on the experience gained from our first project, we submitted another application, which was also successful. As a result, our school currently has two funded KA1 projects, providing both teachers and students with valuable opportunities to participate in international mobility activities.

We believe that international experiences benefit not only the participants themselves but also enrich our entire school community. Through the Erasmus+ programme, we aim to build long-term international partnerships, explore innovative teaching methods, and integrate the knowledge and experience gained abroad into our everyday educational practice.

Our primary goal is to prepare students for successful university studies while providing outstanding opportunities for talent development.

We encourage our students to participate in academic competitions, scientific projects and extracurricular activities, helping them discover and develop their potential.

A particular strength of our school is STEM education. Mathematics, science and digital competences play an important role in everyday school life, supported by well-equipped laboratories, project-based learning and innovative teaching methods.

International cooperation is an important part of our educational vision.

Through Erasmus+, eTwinning and other international initiatives, our teachers and students have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from partners across Europe and bring new perspectives into everyday school life.
