Mindfulness

Dr. Shauna Shapiro, a leading expert and researcher in the field of mindfulness and compassion, defines mindfulness as:

“Paying attention to the present moment with an attitude of curiosity and kindness."

The anchor is a gentle reminder to slow down; steady our body & mind amid the inner storms that may arise. The rope reinforces the connection to our center so that we don't get swept away by our thoughts and emotions.

Mental Health

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. (mentalhealth.gov)

Exercising our mind = doing little bicep curls for the brain.

Talking openly and honestly about Mental Health is something that I have only recently embraced, after years of experiencing fear and shame. I hope that we can continue to shine a bright light on the transformative power of cultivating a healthy and strong mind.

Spirituality

Spirituality includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves.

This scripture is the inspiration behind Be Still & Notice.

By embracing the stillness in the sacred space that exists between the heart and the mind, we can feel God's presence.
