Bernardo P. Marques is a researcher and teacher at Católica Porto Business School.

Bernardo's research focuses on financial intermediation, corporate finance and multivariate data analysis. His joint research has been published, or is forthcoming, in international peer-reviewed journals (European Journal of Finance and Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management).

Bernardo is particularly keen on applying advanced clustering analysis techniques to explore heterogeneity within banking and finance related problems.


Bernardo's Ph.D. in Finance (2021) is from the University of Porto, having received doctoral supervision from Prof. Dr. Carlos Alves. As a Ph.D student, Bernardo visited the Erasmus School of Economics in the winter of 2019, under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Groenen. Bernardo also holds a Msc (2010) and Bsc (2004) in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University. From 2008 to 2014 Bernardo was part of Deloitte's Strategy & Operations division, specialized in the Financial Services Industry.
