Besides my academic work, I am also the founder and Managing Director of a think tank specializing in social policy: Future Policy Lab.

Future Policy Lab focuses on two types of services: providing policy support to public administrations at different levels (national, international, local) and publishing agenda-setting reports.

Some of our work with public administrations include:

Designing the 4-day Week randomly controlled trial for the Basque Government (which will run from 2024 to 2026)
Providing technical support for evidence-based policies to the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF)
Designing a pilot program to solve housing shortages in the rural context, funded by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Change.

Our agenda-setting reports include topics like housing rights (funded by Spain's main housing associations), the implementation and expansion of Spain's minimum income policies (funded by Oxfam), the need for a more ambitious industrial policy. The presentations of our reports have often included the relevant ministers on the field, and have been covered extensively by written, radio and TV press.

I have managed this think tank since its launch in 2022, and we have grown to a team of seven partners and a network of over fifty fellows.

I am also member of the Board of Trustees of the think tank AVANZA, together with Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Helen Clark (former prime minister of New Zealand), Ibrahim Mayaki (former PM of Niger), or Nobel Awardee Óscar Arias, among others.

I sit in the board of the Laboratorio de Oportunidades, a collaboration between Future Policy Lab, FFG, the World Inequality Lab and Opportunity Insights (Harvard University) to study social mobility using big administrative data.
