I am an Adjunct Lecturer at Sciences Po, where I also earned my Ph.D. in Sociology. From 2024 to 2025, I held a full-time teaching fellowship at the Department of Government at Harvard University. I have also held visiting appointments at New York University as an affiliated researcher (2022–2023) and at Humboldt University’s Marc Bloch Center (2021).
My research focuses on the intersection of wealth and political inequality, the sociology of elites, and the relationship between democracy and neoliberal policies. My work has been published in the Review of International Studies and Democratization (among others), and it has been funded by the French National Research Agency (Grant No. 18-ORAR-0006-01) and the Fundación La Caixa
I have six years of teaching experience. At Harvard College, I served as a Teaching Fellow in Justice: Ethical Reasoning in Polarized Times for Michael Sandel (Fall 2024), Rise of the Machines? Understanding and Using Generative AI for Logan S. McCarty (Spring 2025), and What is a Republic? for Dan Carpenter (Spring 2025). At Sciences Po’s Collège Universitaire and PSIA, I have designed and taught courses including Theories of International Relations, Transdisciplinary Approaches to Inequality, Global Development, and The Politics of Democratization, and I also taught for two years at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Beyond academia, I serve as Managing Director of Fundación AVANZA, the policy think tank of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), launched as an initiative of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Based in Madrid, the foundation aims to strengthen progressive policy development in Spain and internationally by advancing research and debate on democratic governance, political economy, and the challenges posed by technological transformation. As its first director, I am helping set up the institution’s research agenda, programs, and international partnerships, while building collaborations with scholars, policymakers, and civil society actors across Europe, North and South America and beyond.
I am a frequent op-ed contributor to several media outlets, including The Guardian, EL PAÍS, Le Monde or InfoLibre. I am a recurring commentator in Cadena SER's Hora 25, as well as an occasional one in TV programs (La Sexta Xplica, Telediario, ARTE, France 2). I have been profiled by EL PAÍS.
I hold a BA in Philosophy and Sociology from the Sorbonne (Paris IV), an MSc in International Relations Theory from the London School of Economics (LSE) and an MSc in Politics, Violence and Crime from University College London (UCL) Anthropology.
