We are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural Berlin Micro Theory and Behavioral Economics PhD Conference, jointly organized by PhD students from the Berlin School of Economics, Humboldt University of Berlin and WZB. Twenty selected PhD students will present their works on topics on the frontiers of microeconomic theory and behavioral economics. The conference is dedicated to fostering discussion and collaboration among early-career researchers in the fields of microeconomic theory and behavioral economics. We aim to provide an environment that promotes insightful discussions, constructive feedback, and networking opportunities with peers and experts in the field.
We invite submissions from current PhD students (at the time of submission). In line with our objective to promote the work of early-career researchers, we only accept submissions which are single-authored or with junior co-authors only (with no co-author having obtained their doctoral degree earlier than October 2020).
Submissions may take the form of papers or extended abstracts, and we welcome submissions of early-stage research. Extended abstracts should be no longer than three pages.
Submission Deadline: Extended to January 30, 2025
Notification of Acceptance: March 31, 2025
Conference Dates: July 7–9, 2025
Selected speakers will be assigned a 30-minute slot to present their paper. Each presentation will be followed by a 5-minute discussion led by PhD students or post-docs invited by the Berlin School of Economics, and a 10-minute Q&A session with the audience. There will be no parallel sessions.
Lunch, accommodation and a conference dinner during the conference period will be covered by the Berlin School of Economics and WZB for invited presenters. The hotel is located in walking distance from the conference venue. We are looking forward to seeing you in Berlin!
