Bluetooth module
"Pair" LED of BlueFruit module indicates the status of the Bluetooth pairing, according to the following animated image:

On my Smartphone the pairing process was very easy. Anyway this chessboard can be connected to any host computer because it just emulates a keyboard.

Bluetooth must be activated, and then click on "Adafruit EZ-Key 207b" device.
The pairing process starts.
Pairing performed correctly.
We see that "Adafruit EZ-Key 207b" device is enabled as an input device.
While playing, the "physical keyboard" detected by our Smartphone will be "Adafruit EZ-Key 207b":
