Chessmen
The wooden chessmen included on the folding chessboard had no room for the magnet, so I decided to use a set from an old Fidelity Chess Challenger computer.
Old magnets are removed, because they don't serve our purpose.
White pieces without magnets.
Washing pieces with soap and water.
Here are the pieces after drying.
The black pieces are restored with polyurethane satin black paint...
...and white pieces with satin synthetic varnish.
Now the neodymium magnets (10x1mm) are inserted and glued: Large pieces with double-sided adhesive, and pawns with cyanoacrylate.
Finally, velvet adhesive is placed on the base.
