I am an Associate Professor of Economics (SECS-P01) in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Rome La Sapienza. I also teach Microeconomics at the LUISS Undergraduate School of Economics and Business. Previously, I served as an Associate Professor of Public Economics (SECS-P03) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and held teaching positions at the University of Bristol (UK) and Utrecht University.
My main research interests are in Microeconomics, at the intersection of Public Economics and Industrial Organization, with a special focus on competition economics, antitrust, market design, with specific applications to public procurement, economics of regulation, and contracting. I am a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice.
My academic work has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Economics Letters, Regional Studies, BE Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, Manchester School, Bulletin of Economic Research, Journal of Analytical and Institutional Economics, Economics Bulletin, and the Italian Economic Journal.
I have been appointed the National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Nazionale) to function as Full Professor in the scientific sector 13/A3 (Public Economics-Scienza delle Finanze).
I am an expert consultant in public procurement at the Italian National School of Administration (SNA), Presidency of the Council of Ministers. I have advised regional and national governmental bodies, including the Italian Minister of the Interior, the National Anti-Corruption Authority, the Italian Court of Audit, the Italian National Fire Corps, the National Police Department, as well as private companies.
