Through completing my undergraduate degree in Wildlife and Practical Conservation at the University of Salford, and my previous work in the culinary industry, I feel I have pinpointed a passion where science and sustainability for human consumption meet. My Masters by Research will be looking at the microbial communities found in commercially important crustaceans in the UK. We aim to assess and provide insight into the optimum processing and storage methods of regularly consumed crustacean species, and if the microbial communities provide a key role in this indication
