I am interested in the effect of heavy metals on the behavioural and physiological aspects of animals. My master research focused on the protective effect of vitamin E on hepatic and renal functions impairment and oxidative stress induced by mercuric chloride in male mice. I also participated in another research which focused on the effect of mustard oil on the oxidative stress parameters in male mice.
My PhD project (supervised by Dr Chiara Benvenuto and Dr Debapriya Mondal) focuses on the colour change of Crangon Crangon against heavy metals. I look into the ability of brown shrimp to change colour when they exposed to cadmium during the experiment period. My research will help to assess the environmental pollution by using one of the sensitive endpoint.
