Sessions can be scheduled individually as client needs or anywhere from 1-3 times per week on a set schedule. (To see and feel differences and progress, I recommend a consistent training schedule at least 1-2 times a week)
These classes are one-on-one and are appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. You will meet your own personal goals, improve flexibility, mobility and strength. Expect to sculpt, tone and feel great. All exercises are based on your own body and personal needs as well as fitness goals- the benefits of private training!
This training utilizes standing exercises at the barre and with small tools that can be practiced at home- but especially work on the Pilates apparatus. Expect in your sessions to practice Pilates training on the mini reformer and amazing sculpting and toning on the springboard. This training will leave you feeling worked, sculpted and toned without heavy impact or pressure on the joints. Training, over time, will increase flexibility and mobility, improve posture and leave the body feeling stronger and more comfortable in everyday activities. You will sculpt and tone from the very core and improve body awareness, preventing injuries in other areas of your life.
A note on working with the springs: working on the Pilates springs is a great way to become aware of and work on imbalances in the body. Movement on the springs becomes very intentional as you need to focus in order to stabilize and you becomes easily aware if one side of the body is working harder than the other. Each limb will work independently, carrying its own weight and this is very beneficial for correcting imbalances in the body and creating evenness. You have the benefits of resistance training- with heavy weighted springs- with the increased body awareness and focus on all movement originating from the core: our powerhouse. My clients love the springs and notice changes in their bodies very quickly as a result of working on them.
This one-on-one format is perfect for you to get to know your body, work towards your goals, strengthen weakened areas and address aches and pains. You will feel both pushed and relieved in your practice. You can expect to increase range of motion, flexibility and muscle tone.

Barre is a workout routine that incorporates ballet, as well as elements of Pilates and yoga into an effective full body workout. We use a stationary barre for balance, as well as small equipment. Hard on muscles but kind on joints, barre utilizes isometric moves that target, tone and fatigue muscle. Embrace the shaking as it’s totally natural for your muscles to quiver! Barre can help you build core strength, challenge and strengthen balance, improve posture and tone and strengthen muscles. While most work done at the barre strengthens legs and seats, classes include arm and core toning along with cardio movement for a full body workout. No dance background is required: expect to see plies, releve, lunges and squats-among other exercises- as we tuck, tone and build a lean dancer's physique. As effective as barre is- it's also fun! Classes are choreographed to enjoyable music that makes the hour fly by and feel like a party. I can't wait to see you at the barre!
PRICE: $5/60 minute class (extremely affordable rate for a springboard class)
Class size: 3 people (semi-private)
A MUST-TRY! If you have never worked on springs, you will be blown away by the effectiveness of the training- both for finding balance and physical therapy for the body and for really building strong muscle tone.
Great for All Levels and Abilities
Because you can change tension and resistance level with ease (by adjusting your level on the board or your position to the board) people of all fitness levels can be challenged and enhanced in a group setting. Modifications for injuries, pregnancies, etc can easily be made.
Working on the Spingboard is Challenging and Effective
On the springboard each limb works independently and carries its own weight. This is a fantastic way to identify and correct imbalances in the body. Working on the springs is also an extremely effective way to develop core awareness and strength. Yours is the constant task of stabilizing and balancing in controlled movements and you will feel each movement in your core- the power house of your body.
Benefits that you Can Expect as a Result of Working on the Springs
Working on the springboard is a fantastic way to develop long, lean toned muscle and strength originating from your deepest core muscles. Springboard work will help to mobilize hips, decreasing aches and pains while simultaneously building strength. You can also expect better posture and increased flexibility with this practice. In short- you can expect all the wonderful results of weight resistance training without the associated aches and pains. This is a great practice for improving form and protecting yourself from injury in all other forms of exercise.

Joseph Pilates developed this exercise methodology in the early 1900's and it has been changing bodies ever since. My mat Pilates classes take a classical focus and teach fundamentals, core strength and stability and can span to clients of beginner-advanced levels.
"The exercises are performed with attention to the center, or core of the body. The pelvis, which is center, has the responsibility top bear the greatest weight and distribute it. Each movement is guided by the concentrated mind with precision and control, a minimum of movement. The breath gives movement life, and each move is realized with ease, flow and vigorous dynamics."
Benefits of Pilates:
Mat is king- if you can master the mat, your body is physically capable of anything!
Pilates changes bodies: it has changed mine, provided rehabilitation from injury and lead me to my highest level of strength and fitness. I can't wait to share my passion for Pilates with you!
At the Bennie Barre, I conclude most sessions with a time for meditation and positive affirmations. Because the body achieves what the mind believes, I feel that approaching fitness from a place of confidence and trust in your body is best. I write and record affirmations for myself and my clients and the Bennie Barre is a safe place of growth, development and support.
I hope that the energy that find here in my studio is fun, encouraging and inspiring! Expect to laugh, sweat, breath deeply and smile.
